Well, we got two little chicks for our local country store yesterday! My mom didn't want to get them yet but then she decided it would be best so that they could go out with the rest of the flock by winter. Anyways Ginger, our Isa Brown has a few feathers on her wings, but Omlet our Buff Orpington has no feathers and still has the "egg beak". I'm not too sure what to do about it. I really want to spoil them rotten, but I'm not sure what's safe. If you could leave some suggestions that would be great!

Do you mean the little "egg tooth" that is on the end of the beak? You don't have to do anything, it doesn't hurt the check, and it will probably just disappear one day. I'm not sure if they actually fall off or they just wear off naturally, but just leave it be. It'll be fine. :)

Just feed them their chick starter for now since it is the most balanced nutrition for them at this point. When you do feed them anything beside their starter make sure you also offer chick grit as well.

so if I offer them hard boiled eggs in tiny pieces I will need to offer chick grit?
