Hello All - a coworker’s friend gave me these two chicks and am wondering if you can help identify if they are male or female AND what type of chickens. Was told they were Americauna and female but I have no idea. First two pics are of Cleo, a sweetie who is dainty and a scaredy-cat. Last three pics are of Alex who is a little more calm and bigger. Both born in April. Any help is genuinely appreciated.

I think they are Easter egger pullets. They're beautiful!

The second one is definitely an Easter egger. They both look like pullets to me. Neither are a true Ameraucana though.

I certainly hope so. One has lots beard and feathers around the head. Do all Easter Eggers have that? Or just some? And Thank you for responding

Easter eggers can, but Ameraucanas definitely do. It’s a breed characteristic of ameraucanas because they were bred from Araucanas. An Easter egger is any chicken that has a blue egg gene that is bred to another chicken breed.

So they might have muffs they might not, but that is because they could have bred Araucanas or Legbars to create Easter eggers as they also have a blue egg gene.
