Hello all!

I wanted to jump on here and see if I could get some information. I have RIR hens, and a mixed cockerel. I’ve decided to let my broody hen hatch a couple eggs. My question is, what will the chicks look like? How is it determined? Thanks all!!

like are you hatching your ow chicks? if so then it att matters on the breed of egg!

Wow I thought Rhode Island reds Don't get broody very often. And what kind of rooster do you have. I know you said a mix but what kind of mix do you think he is.

Well, I don't know much about genetics or breeding, but the resulting eggs will probably be part RIR, and part whatever breed your rooster is.

I didn't know RIR's went broody often. Your sure she is a RIR?

And do you know what breeds your rooster is a mix of?
