What Will This Look Like???

This is Marlys, a pekin/ cayuga cross

Beautiful co-dominance! The Cayuga coat is dominant to the Pekin coat, so most hybrids won't look like that. I have a duck 1/4 Cayuga, 1/4 Blue Swede, and 1/2 Jumbo Pekin. Mother is a hybrid, father is the Pekin. The Cayuga coat has been passed down in each generation, she looks just like a slightly more dull Cayuga with a few small white spots and patchy feet.

White is recessive. Unless the cayuga caries the white gene as well, there is little chance of getting a white duck. And seeing as white is a "masking" gene, the pekin could contribute just about any color of the rainbow. I've seen some really pretty ducks come out of pekin crosses, and some very drab ones. You just never know.
