I noticed my cockerel, Rodriguez, was limping and lifting his leg so I picked him up and saw this...[IMG]

What has happened to his foot? Is it a couple of broken quills? They are still bleeding a little bit, what do I do?
He is a Bantam with feathery feet.
    Please help, thanks!!

I'm not sure what happened, but I would make sure the wound stays clean and not infected. It's hard to tell if it's bad from the picture, but if your worried about it getting infected, put him in a pen with shavings, food, and water somewhere dry and out of the wind. Also, you could put some idine or hydrogen peroxide to prevent infection. Also depending on how deep it is, clean it several times a day.
