It's the one in the middle that's black that I'm not sure of. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a better close up pic. I'm torn on whether it's a roo or hen. No crowing as of yet. Not sure what to think.

    Thanks,

One of these things is not like the other...

Could be an australorp? The picture is too small to see well [IMG]

It's a Black Giant or Black Astralorp and it is a Rooster. If it has dark brown nearly black eyes its a giant if they are lighter in color its an Astralorp. Either way, you win, they are great birds!

It looks just like my australorps. How old is it? I want to say it's a female because I have hens with even larger combs than that. But age could play into that, too. Pretty flock you've got! [IMG]

BA hen is my guess- the hen part I'm fairly certain of but the eyes do look a bit dark. Very pretty bird and I LOVE my BA's.

Black Australorp girl. Girly girl. I bet she's gorgeous in the sun, with that beetle-green sheen to her feathers!

I picked them up on March 22 and they were a day or two old at most. So age is almost 4 months. I lean toward a hen too.
