Okay - old timers, or folks living in Sorghum country,
What's the best variety of Sorghum to grow to make Sorghum molasses?

I grew a 12 square foot patch of "Amish Rainbow Blend", but the stalks turned out pretty small. I imagine this variety is meant for decoration.

Once I ran a couple of stalks through the rollers of the pasta maker, and only got THREE DROPS OF JUICE, I knew I would not be making molasses this year.

I'm proud of myself for trying....but I'm guessing a 12 square foot patch is not enough of any variety to make molasses.

Let me know what y'all think.

Not a Sorghum grower (horrible climate here for it and growing it in a green house is a bit of a waste) but am a big Sorghum fan, and far as I've read, the Mennonite and Honey Drip varieties are most excellent.
