Whats the difference between a Bator and a Hatcher? And a few other ?'

I had a few questions...

1) Whats the difference between a Bator and a Hatcher?

2) After the chicks hatch do you put them in a normal cage with a heat lamp? (what wattage/ temp should it be for the just hatched chicks?)

3) It says here on the BYC how to page that they should be fed dry mash. Is that the same a chick starter?

4) When you make ventilation holes and then plug them with cork, is this in case the temp gets too hot you can pull them out and let it cool down?

5) How badly do you need a fan? What is its purpose?
