What's the difference between white rock and white leghorn?

    And which one is this, oh, and is it a pullet or cockrel? He/she is 7 weeks old.

  2. Leghorns lay white eggs, Rocks lay brown. Leghorns are a bit smaller and spazzier (my humble experience), Rocks are a bit bigger and calmer.

    [​IMG] I really do want a pullet Leghorn.... I was out observing my chickens today and out of all the white ones I noticed that this one was more upright and had a longer showier tail. I've really lucked out this year, so far it looks my pullets out number my cockerels [​IMG] [​IMG]

    Yep, she looks just like my leghorn pullets at that age.

    Then that would make this one a white rock cockerel? It is also 7 weeks old.

    Leghorns have white earlobes; plymouth rocks have red earlobes.
