Wheaten marans 4 weeks

Leaning toward Roo, since there's so much black. No comb yet, slow developing tail. Still hoping for pullet but have a home if it ends up a roo

I agree. Looks like a boy. However, I had a Salmon Faverolle that was feathering in dark like that and turned out to be a female (they are the same in that they can be sexed by the color they feather in, since the adult plummage is so different). Did you get it from a breeder (a good breeder, that is) or a hatchery?

It's from a hatchery (via Agway).
