When are Silkie roasters sexually mature?

I agree. I would expect a 5 month old cockerel to be crowing or attempting to crow by now.

Okay! Well he is much taller than the rest of them, he has a smaller less puffy crest! I will post a picture in the Silkie section when I get a chance!

Agree a pic would help. My little black silkie was showing us all how manly he is at 5 months. We didn't tell him his crow was pitiful

and the big girls wouldn't squat enough for him to mate, but he was still all for trying

Just another example of why people say that the only way to know a silkies gender for sure is to wait until they crow/lay an egg.
