when are they ready?!

I have 5 healthy leghorn/cochin hens. When I purchased them I was told they were under 6 months. I've had them for about 2 months now and they are about half the size of my fullbreed leghorn rooster. I was told they'd be small but im just wandering when im going to know of they're ready to begin laying. Or if they are still too young.

Well if their 6 months old or older you should be getting eggs any time now.
