...using a sweeter heater....so no light source. Do they need a small night light or anything, in case they wander out from under the heater to get a drink or eat? Or, because they are going to bed at dusk, will they just settle in under the heater for the entire night? The last time I brooded chicks was with a heat lamp, and they were up many times during the night doing the food/water shuffle and just being crazy. I just don't want them getting too warm, and wanting to cool down, and then not be able to find their way back to the heater. Am I overthinking this?
First night with four new chicks, and want to see them alive again in the morning.
