We have had our white leghorns for 15 weeks and they were 2-3 wks when we got them so they're 17-18 weeks. 3 out of the 5 have large red comb and wattles. I put a egg filled with dirt and pebbles in each box. They don't squat, they're skittish anyway. I can fit about 2 fingers between Fiona's(the oldest) pelvic bones. When can I expect an egg? This is them today.

They look beautiful when out in the grass. So are you saying they should be laying soon?

From the little bit of google research I just did it looks like the "normal" age for a white leghorn to start laying is 18 weeks so hopefully you'll be getting those eggs soon! Try putting a golf ball in the nesting box to show them where the eggs go :)

Oh I've researched a bit too haha, and yes 18 weeks seems to be it. But I've seen others' leghorns start earlier so I'm hoping one of them will be early birds. We put empty Egg Land's Bst eggs filled up with dirt and pebbles in the boxes on Sunday.
