When can I give my chicks treats?

I have three 5/6 day old chicks and am really looking forward to spoiling them rotten!
I have five hens in a run outside and they love rice, scrambled eggs (a bit odd but they don't seem to mind!) boiled veggies and garlic porridge!
When I'd it okay to give the chicks some treats like that? Or is it okay for them now?

    Thanks you!

You can give them small treats that won't impact their little crops. Grass and scrambled eggs are a favorite. Remember to give them chick sized grit when feeding them anything other than chick starter. They don't need the grit when eating the starter, since it's water soluble.

okay thanks a bunch! Would it be okay to grind up some of my adult chickens grit for them? or would you suggest specially buying some? would they need to grit all the time or only for a while after i treat them?

They sell chick grit, but grinding up adult grit should be fine. You can give them grit as long as you want, it's just not necessary if you're feeding them treats.
