    Hi

My Bantam has 2 8-day-old chicks and I am wondering if they can join the other Hens and Rooster now with the protection of their mum. I need their pen for another Broody hen who has just started to hatch. I'm not worried about them getting cold because it's averaging 29 degrees at day and 24 at night,(82 and 75 fahrenheit), and they'll lay under mum. But is it safe?

Yes, as long as they have mom and other areas of retreat, they can go with the rest of the flock. Make sure that you either feed the entire flock the chick feed, grower feed or a flock raiser.

I'd say this is a great time to put everyone together. Momma will let everyone know to leave the littles alone, and IME the rooster often helps momma protect the chicks. You just need to make sure you have plenty of space, and some hiding places are good for the littles to get away from the big hens.
