When can i tell their sex?

    This is my fist time having peas and so its going good (getting maybe 3 more). Here i just wanna know----
    When will the male get his train?----if i have a male
    When in the shortest amount of time would i be able to tell their sex.

    I have only had baby black-shoulders this year but at around 2-3 months the males start getting the checkered feathers in on their upper back/neck area. And as a general rule of thumb, the males stand taller than the females, even at that age. Only speaking from my own experience [​IMG]

    You should be able to tell by 3 months. The males will get the barring on their wings and the females will start losing the barring on their wings, becoming more of a flat brown color instead.
