When Can My Girls Safely Eat Layer Feed?

    My little Barred Rock girls were hatched in August when can they start eating layer feed?

    When they are laying is best.

    But if you are down to the bottom of the bag and want to get it early, I'd go with 20 weeks. Just be aware that the extra calcium is bad for their kidneys if they aren't making eggs. So I'd just keep feeding the starter/grower until they lay, and add oyster shells on the side for them.
