when do i take the heat lamp away

    Hello i have a question i have 8 baby chicks that i bought 2 weeks ago so im guessing they are about 2-3 weeks old and my question is how much time untile i take the heat lamp away? thanks

    Reduce the heat by 5 degrees each week. By the time they are fully feathered { 8 wks or so } they should be fine without a lamp - depending on temps. Watch them though to see if they are shivering or huddled together, they will give you indicators if they are cold or warm.
