when do leghorns start laying????

    I've heard that leghorns start laying at like 4.5 months, is this true???? If so, I need to start looking for eggs soon!!!!

    they start laying at 18 to 20 weeks old.

    We got our first eggs from ours at around 18 weeks.

    Mine started at 22 weeks, but she is over a year old now and hasn't missed a day.

    I have 10 white leghorns and the first to lay was 16 1/2 weeks. They just turned 20 weeks on yesterday and I'm getting 6-8 eggs a day.

    My leghorns are 22 weeks and no eggs yet.
