When do roosters get noisy???

Does anyone know when roosters start to get noisy? My coop is right next to my neighbors house so I cant have a cockle-doodling rooster. However, it is a lot cheaper and simpler to buy chickens in a straight run. So, I was thinking about buiyng a straight run and slaughtering the males for meat before they get too loud - is this possible?

It depends on the rooster (breed?). Out of my three roos, one crowed at 3 months, one crowed at 5 months, and the other crowed at 6 months. Either way you will hear hoarse "practice" crows before they really start belting them out.
