When do roosters start crowing?

If I buy straight run chicks. How long will it be before the cocks start crowing and annoying the neighbors?

My newest roo started crowing around 5-6 months.

My BLRW started a pitiful crow at 6 months and 2 weeks later it became the "real" crowing. Now 2 weeks after that, they are after the hens all the time. Their days are numbered!

It's very much an individual thing. Some start as early as a couple of weeks and some could be almost a year old. The fun is in not knowing!

You can never tell, I've had a rooster start crowing at 4 DAYS old. And some that didn't start until 18 weeks old. But it takes them a while to get to crowing loudly.
