We got this new hen a week ago, she was pretty beat up and not in good shape. on another thread here I found out she had leg mites the day we got her. so we have been treating here for a week, her legs look a little better (that is not saying much ). how do I know when I have gotten rid of them. she is still in quarantine, and we would like to start and try to move her into the flock soon. she seems perfectly healthy except for the leg mites, and since we do not want to have to treat five birds with leg mites she is still in quarantine. so when is it safe ? how can I tell if I have killed the all the mites.

I would wait another week or so before I put her in the new flock. You want to kill the eggs as well. It is not a bad idea to coat the other birds legs as well. It is a great prevention measure.
