When my hen preens, little black things come out?

They are almost two dimensional and look like skin flakes, like the one above it, but I am VERY nervous about mites. I just did a mini introduction to my month old chicks on neutral ground (very supervised, couldn’t touch) and now I’m nervous that if she has mites, she could’ve given them to the babies. Are these mites?
