Turkey eggs normally hatch after 28 days.

    Read the Turkeys 101 thread.

    Newly hatched turkeys are poults.

Wao! its wonderful. My turkey hen hatched 11 out of the 13 eggs it laid before the attainment of 28 days. It hatched on 11th of April instead of 13th as calculated. Is it normal ? The poults are healthy. Hurray!!!!!!!!!!

The turkey eggs that I hatch in the incubator usually hatch on day 27. When a hen is hatching them it is easy to not know for sure which is day 1 since they can be sneaky about it.

    Congratulations!!

When should I remove the poults from the hen as I don't want to leave them together?

I find that turkey hens can be really good mothers if they aren't in the general population. My hens are in the general population so I take the poults away (just too many bad things can happen to the little ones) as soon as I find them if they are already dry. I move them to my brooder.

It is always a good idea to wear a heavy coat and protective gloves when stealing poults from a hen. I try to maneuver myself so that the hen is behind me in case she decides to flog me with her wings.

    Good luck.

It's now 7 days since my turkey hen hatched it's Eggs and I hurriedly when through a post here titled 'Turkey 101' and I really got good guide. Now apart from the anti cocsidiosis treatment for the poults they don't really need anything?
