When should I lockdown my orphaned mallard (I think) egg?

I have no idea how old the sweet baby is, but guessing by everything ive learned, and documenting certain milestones, Im thinking hes about 25/26 days... Any help is greatly appreciated. Its crazy how much I love this little guy already!!
