We have 6. I was going to keep 3. I know 2 of the 6 that are staying.
But DH came home and told me that I will likely lose 2 of the 6 still.

They came home Saturday and are doing well.
It seems like loss comes early with chicks and I was guessing these were last Monday hatches. Or do chicks not work like Metzer farms does with ducks... hatch and ship Monday.

But I'm not over that hurdle and I might still have some croak?

Generally speaking, if they live past a week, they're good to go.
I usually watch mine for the first week just to make sure they're not getting weak or dying.
Of course, chicks can die any time (even grown chickens drop dead for no apparent reason).
    Good luck with your chickies!

Thanks. I'm getting rather attached to 2 of them. They are snuggly. One even crawled up my shirt sleeve tonight. And they both get all snuggly when you put your hand over them, they wiggle around rubbing my hand and then snooze.
I like that they have a tell for when they are about to poop. Comes in handy.
