I have four bantam hens, who went broody. They are now mothering seven chicks. I got rid of my rooster. When do my girls start laying again? I'm missing my home fresh eggs.

They will lay again when they're done raising their chicks. That could be when the babies are 4 weeks old or it could be months from now. It just depends on how dedicated they are to mothering their chicks :)

You do realize that your hens will go broody whether a rooster is present or not, right? Do you not plan on letting them hatch again?

    Good luck!
