My Jersey Giants are 7 months old, when will they start laying?
My other 9 (3 Buffs 3 Bared, 3 silkies) started laying at about 6 mo old or 20 weeks.
    Thanks

JGs are slow to mature but with sufficient light she'll start right away.
If you add a light on a timer to up the day to 12-14 hours that will help.

Giants are definitely more slow to mature; commonly 9 months and up to a year before they start laying, ugh! But- they are worth the wait! They tend to produce better than most heavy breeds and lay nice BIG eggs. I get an extra large brown egg from my Jersey Black Giant daily- all through the winter!

Since the days are shorter, make sure they get enough light too., and a steady water supply. Be patient- and enjoy these beauties!
