So, I had 2 red Sexlink hens, my favorite girls, very friendly, that were the first of 24 hens to start to lay.

One dissapeared one day, never saw her again, and the other went broody almost immediately after starting to lay. Hatched 3 chicks about 2 weeks ago and I have them confined to their own area in the hen house with food, water, shelter and heat.

Can I let them out into the general population now?? I have 2 roos and 22 other hens of various breeds, various temparmentes and personalities, all about the same age, about 6 months old, with approximately 10 laying. I don't know why the other 10/11 aren't laying yet, thats a whole other issue!!

When will the SL hen start to lay again?? After the chicks are more self sufficient? How long does that take?? These are my first hen hatched/raised chicks and I am clueless!!
