When will they start laying again?

I purchased two rir hens at a farm show saturday. The gent i bought em from said they are about a year old and laying everyday. I got em home and no eggs yet. Coop is all set up. I didnt have straw so i put some pine shavings in the nest boxes. Should i get some hay tommorrow and maybe put an egg or two in the boxes?

They may lay an egg or two that were in the reproductive 'assembly line', but then the change in environment will probably cause them to stop laying for several weeks. Chickens hate change, and the stress of a new home generally causes them to stop laying for a while.
