When will these two start laying? About 3-4month black one is an orpington and the colorful one i an EE. EE: Orp:
Most chickens start laying at 5-6 months of age. A few weeks before they begin, most chickens usually develop larger, redder combs and wattles and sometimes beginning crouching when you try to pick them up. I would say that your EE is closer to laying than your Orpington, as her comb and wattles are more developed. Pretty birds!
From the pictures I'd say you have a bit to wait but with a few of my chickens if seriously felt like I put them to bed one night and the next day BOOM! they had big bright red wattles/combs.
