When's the best time of year to get New-world quails?

Fall/autumn, winter, spring, or summer? I don't really know since I've seen for myself that many sources from the web don't tell me this, and I'm getting confused. My parents say it's during the spring (because during this point, they're closer to egg-laying), but from what I have read, New-world quails can normally get aggressive in the breeding months and subside when breeding season comes to an end. Now look (making sure you're going on the right track), this is New-world quails (like California quails, Mearns's quails, mountain quails, etc.), not Old-world quails!

So the question is: When is the best time of year to get New-world quails? Anyone have recommendations?

I got my blue scale eggs last summer and they are just starting to lay now. I don't care for them because the don't produce all year round. I feel like I'm feeding a bunch of freeloaders all winter long. If you buy in late winter you don't have to feed them all winter long. If you are getting eggs get them late summer so you only have to feed them through the fall/winter and not the whole summer too

I love the looks of those blue scale quail, though.

so do I..so like a sucker I have more I bought in the incubator. Mine are laying maybe 1 egg a week between 2 hens. I know one that is a hen..now I have to figure out the other one. I put what eggs I had in the incubator just for kicks and giglles..and it was more giggles as they were not fertile

Me too, but I favor the California valley quail more than the blue-scaled quail.
