Where are my feathers???

    I was wondering if anyone could help me understand why my hens are loosing feathers around their lower back and breast [​IMG]

    She could be molting, or if you have a rooster or more then one, he/they could be getting to rough with her. But it looks more like she's molting to me

    Also check them for Mites...

    Several of the hens are doing this. Would I be able to see mites

    I would say molting but to be for sure, if you flip her and check her belly usually underneath the wings, you should see any some little tiny bugs if she has them, if you see nothing, I wouldn't worry about it just let her molt.. LOL

    Usually the most popular place is by the vent. I KNOW doesn't sound very pleasant but they enjoy that spot as well. LOL
