hi everyone!
I am Charlotte.
I have 2 orpington chickens (26.5 weeks old) and various fish as pets.
I am hoping that you can help me with a query that has been frustrating me the past few weeks
I got my chickens on the 14th July, when they were 6 weeks off point of lay and they are now past point of lay at 26. 5 weeks.
i contacted the breeder to ask whether hers from the same batch had started to lay and they had on the 4th september. mine still hasn't.
yes i changed their feed from pellets and corn to mash when i got them, they have a constant water supply.
i asked the breeder what she feeds hers to encourage them and she said pellets and corn which on her recommendation a week and a half ago i changed them to to see if it works.
am i being impatient or worrying for no reason?
i do understand that the larger breeds take more time to start.
i have photos of the neck feathers of it will help identify them as i still don't know the sex of them.
if you would like to see them let me know and i can upload them.
thanks everyone!
