If your wife saw the feral chickens running around I think they are all mixed breeds. Do you live in Hawaii? I don't know if you have feed stores that sell chicks. If not I'm sure some of the commercial hatcheries will sell you Rhode Island Reds, or other breeds.

[IMG] Good luck locating your flock. RIR are available at spring chick days at most feed & seed stores.

Good luck finding some Rhode Island Reds! Once you have 20 posts, you can take part in the Buy/Sell/Trade section that Wyandottes7 linked to, and hopefully find some birds for sale nearby.

Other than buying from local sellers or feed stores, though, you could also consider purchasing from a hatchery. There are many to choose from (at least in the United States--I'm not sure about other countries), including McMurray hatchery, Meyer hatchery, MyPetChicken, and Cackle hatchery.

I'm an asker not an answerer. I am interested in cochins, or cochin bantams, if there is such a thing
