Where can I order sexed Bantam and other odd breeds that are sexed. Every place I have checked only offer straight run. I have checked out my pet chicken but I would rather not have to sell a kidney to get 10 sexed chicks:/
Any other suggestions? Thank you [IMG]

Yep I'm pretty sure no other hatcheries sell sexed bantams. You can't expect them to really, what would they do with all the extra roos since they would be too small to sell as assorted roos for meat like they do with large fowl ?

Doesn't the vast majority of hatchery roos end up in the grinder anyway?

Because bantams are smaller, I imagine they are that much more difficult to sex.

Besides MPC, I haven't seen a hatchery that offers sexed bantams. You'd have to order roughly 2x as many chicks as you want to keep and either sell or cull the extra males.

Quote:MPC is the only place that has sexed bantams, unless you are willing to look for a breeder who can sell you started pullets.
