Anyone ever ordered Bourbon Reds from McMurray? Was it a satisfactory experience? I am looking to get about 50 poults and wondering where a good place to purchase them would be.

I have bought turkey poults from them in the past. No problems and good service but I don't have any of their Bourbon Reds.

Bourbon reds can be very rare to find. I'm getting one tomorrow :D Good luck tho as they're very pretty.

My experience is that Bourbon Reds are one of the more common heritage turkeys and are available in season from any of the major hatcheries.

Well that's cool, they are kinda rare here you can't even get them at the hatcheries. Blue Slates are near impossible to find. :(

I have Blue Slates and have never had any problem finding them.

What can be uncommon is to find any type of heritage turkey at the chain feed stores but major hatcheries carry the more common heritage varieties such as Bronze, Bourbon Red, Blue Slate, Royal palm, etc. For the rarer varieties there is always Porters Rare Heritage Turkeys.
