I live in Illinois. Plainfield to be specific, which is west of Chicago, about 40 miles out of the city. We have a backyard chicken flock, and I am thinking about starting a flock of quail. The biggest problem is finding where to source the quail. I would prefer day old chicks as I do not currently have an incubator. I assume that like chickens, quail eggs and chicks are sold. Does anybody have a local source though? I would rather buy in person than order online. I am willing to take a drive as looking as it's within reason, say up to an hour long drive.
