    Hello everyone.
Our barred rock hens have been together with a barred rock rooster for the past 6 to 8 weeks now. Before that, they also have been together with Chantecler Roosters. Now we incubated some eggs from the hens and this is what hatched. Besides barred rocks also a white chick with what seems like barred wings. We had two of these but one died shortly after it hatched.
How can that be? Is it possible that hens are still pregnant from the Chantecler or is it somewhere in the genes?

Do you have any other chicken breeds besides Barred Rocks?

Some of the folks here are very well versed on color genetics. Are your Chanticleer roosters white? Do they have cushion combs? Does the white barred chick have a cushion comb forming?

No there are no other chicken breeds with the barred rocks.

The Chantecler that were with barred rock had cushion cubs and we're all white but the have been separated from the barred rock weeks ago.
Can't tell right now what the chick has for a comb.

Maybe one of their eggs got mixed in with the barred rocks?

The Chantecler are all gone to different people.
I'm wondering if there is an non barred rock ancestor down the line?!
