How can I tell if I have a roo? This one seems to be the oldest, is always the first one that runs up to me and is on my heals when I am walking away, pecks at my hand every once in a while when I go to pet (more so recently) and is extremely vocal compared to all the other chickens. He/she is never shy about taking treats but 2 of the other hens tend to follow he/she around. Here is a pic of what he/she looks like [IMG]

I would greatly appreciate any advice since this is my first flock of chickens.

She looks like a hen to me. How old is she?

Agree it looks like a hen. Leghorns are pretty confident birds as a rule.

Definitely a hen. She should be laying for you soon, if she isn't already!
