This 9 week old pullet was sold to me as a white Leghorn but I’ve heard that all Leghorns have bright yellow legs. I would describe her leg color as tan. Could she still be a Leghorn?

Hi there, hope you're enjoying BYC! :frow

Shank color can vary some especially when chicks and can also be effected by diet. What color are the bottom of her feet? Her ear lobe color?

The bottom of the feet should be yellow and lobes should be white, if a Leghorn.

If red lobes and no yellow skin.. first suspect would be white Rock. How long have you had it? :pop

Thank you for the information. BYC is such a useful tool! I’ve had Sugar, (my 5 year old sons name choice) since she was a hatchling. The flock is on a high protein game starter since their are Guinea Fowl in with them. Not a spot of yellow and her lobes look white to me.
