So, this is Ophelia. Whom I got as a whiting true blue. She just started laying eggs. She keeps laying with Scarlett(Ameruacuana) and I keep getting one white and one blue. My Ameracuana has been laying for many weeks, and hers are ALWAYS blue and not oblong. Now I'm very nervous that I never got my whiting true blue! This morning I checked for eggs and I didn't see any 30 minutes later after they were both laying there I got one white one blue and then she immediately got out of the nest. So do I have a different breed?

Your lovely Ophelia does not look like a Whiting true blue. Granted they are not a specific coloring but with her very clearly splash markings and comb and leg coloring she looks more like a splash Andalusian. They may have mixed up the breeds when you got the order.😊

Agreed. She appears to be a Splash Andalusian. Whiting True Blues don't normally have single combs to my knowledge. They are essentially a fancy Easter Egger, so normally they have a pea, or modified pea comb.

Thank you so much!! That had never occurred to me. I found some splash that looks like my beautiful Ophelia. I am shocked, I'm going to keep watching and seeing what she lays. I need to see it being expelled immediately, just to make sure it hasn't been s twice coincidence (blue egg, Ameracuana, and white egg) they act like an egg laying team ... Always laying at the same time in the same nest.

Mystery solved!!! when we placed our order my mom and I ordered different breeds she ended up having my whiting true blue with the pea comb who she thought was her blue Andalusian she had ordered. It wasn't until Ophelia laid her first egg that we started questioning her breed! Here is my mom's "Lucia". She'll soon start laying her blue egg!!!!! so she ended up with a white and true blue she didn't order and I ended up with a splash Andalusian that I didn't order. But we LOVE our girls!!!! It's just funny that we didn't know we had mixed them up 6 months ago when they were one day old.
