I just recieved the box with everything in it and an autograph from Herrick Kimball wishing me good luck.[IMG]

Now the fun starts. Went to the scrap yard and looked for HDP board, aluminum and stainless steel. Stainless steel is $2.50 a pound!!![IMG] I will probably go with the aluminum. They have 3/16 inch 22 x 22 inch plates there for $5 vs $63 for SS.

Anybody that has built one and would like to offer tips and suggestions, please bring it.

You just gave me an idea...I wonder if I could convert an old dryer into a plucker..the heating element is gone out, and it is otherwise in good shape. Thanks for rattling my brain for me this morning!! If nothing else I could use the motor [IMG]

Good luck on your plucker!! I hope it's a success!!!!!!!!!!

I bookmarked this nifty site in case you are interested in building one of these to help pull the fingers through. http://whizbangplucker.blogspot.com/2010/04/coming-soon.html

I used 1/2 heavy plastic. Very easy to bore. 3/8 would also do. If you need bearing I have a xtra that came out of a mower. The one I used worked awsome. PM me if interested.
