I do all my own butchering and processing myself . I lucky my dad was a butcher . I make my own sausage and bacon . Haven't done ham yet but plan on it . I plan to render the fat for lard . People around here will lay 8 bucks a quart for it . I have chickens too and just finished my rabbit hutch and need to wire my quail hutch . In the next two weeks I should be ready for them . I also have 13 bee hives
I have no idea how to market lard, but it is used as shortening. Lard makes the best pie crusts, bar none!!How do you market your lard? What do people use it for? I'd love to be able to sell some around here!
