Anyone out there breed Welsummers?
Is there a Welsummer association?
I don't know if there is a Welsummer Association but there are two nice yahoo groups that deal with them.
I raise them but I don't have enough to where I am able to sell eggs or chicks. I sell locally. I have a few friends that have them as well.
They are my favorite breed of chickens.
I believe Opa is breeding/selling eggs.
I've gotten Welsummer eggs from gamebirdsonly. He's good to work with too.
I thought I had a breeder here in Canada but they don't have any this year
So I looking south of the border.
Hoping I can find someone. I'll be heading south in the spring and hoping to bring back some birds when I return!
I have welsummers
Right now I'm just getting started I'll have eggs.
And I'm hoping to have some chicks and then started young stock later.
My son and I breed them. We are going to be selling fertle eggs as soon as the hens start laying better. Not enough hours in the day for them yet. But we are getting some nice dark eggs and my hens hare show champions.
I love that Welsummer roo! I'm hoping mine looks that good!
Oh My....the roo is really nice!
I have Welsummers....they are young....can't wait for them to start laying.
I purchased eggs from AussieSharon...
Hope that helps.
I breed and show my Welsummers as well. Saw your request Chantecler but didn't reply because I'm not sure what the requirements are for shipping eggs or chicks across the line.
