I love my orps, and I know lots of others here too, but it has come to my attention that if we want to talk about orps without being hated on, we need our own thread, so here it is. You can talk about your orps, and how much you love them, post pics and tell stories about them. I will not allow hating on eachother in this thread, or on the way any of us take care of our chickens.

I got mine on purpose.
And boy do I regret it.
Trust me, I’m no Orp hater.
But I hate Melody, and she happens to be an Orp.

I love my BO, appropriately named Love. Nothing beats seeing her running over for treats -- so big and fluffy, she practically waddles! She's always looking to be petted, and will jump right up on my lap as soon as I sit. They're the Golden Retrievers of the chicken world! :love

I love my chickens, I have a few varieties and each is unique. My Buff Orpingtons are the sweetest natured Hens & Roos, I can hug all of them daily. They're so sweet, when the Ameraucana group started bullying Tweedle Dee (after 3 yrs together!) the Buff Orp group welcomed her. When I rescued an older Buff Brahma, Chanel, they welcomed her, too. So the Orps names are Uno, as he permanently knocked off one of his spurs, Jenna the fairer hen & Amber the golden hen. The extra handsome young Roo is Cornelius, he lives in the Rooster bachelor pad.

Funny story about my first buff named Goldie...
I was about 8-9 years old when I got my first flock. I LOVED Goldie. She and I were very good pals. At the time I lived in a small subdivision outside of town, and was the only one with chickens. So one day, I am carrying Goldie around the neighborhood going on a walk, which apparently is not a normal thing to do. One of my neighbors sees me and calls out, "What sort of dog do you have there?" I walk over to her, tell her it is not a dog, it is a chicken, then proceed to tell her breed and gender. She asks a couple of questions about chickens, which I answer, then proceeds to stare at me very oddly as I continue to go on my walk with my chicken.
