Allthough my mornings are crowless (and eggless) I'm a little worried about my buff! If indeed she is a he I'll have to re Home my favorite bird. My 3 "girls" are 18 wks. A buff orpington, black sexlink then the Astralorp.

That is a big comb, but I'm pretty sure that's a hen, it would have been crowing long ago.

The buff looks like a female to me with those rounded saddle feathers.

Those are all pullets. The big red combs mean they are getting close to laying eggs.

I can overlook the comb but, the wattles are big - no saddle feathers but can't see the hackles well enough.- giving me a headache. I bow to more knowledgeable folks

They're all definitely pullets. Your Buff Orpington will be laying eggs any day!

One of my buffs has me concerned as well. I got them all at the same time, on April 10th of this year. No crowing or anything but one just has a bigger comb and wattle. Can't go by egg laying because im still patiently waiting.
