I followed the advice of another BYC member and have been adding 10% Manna Pro to my feed since I had a lot of motling.

I have 48 layers of a variety of different breeds. 36 are 6 months old and 12 are 18 months old.

Today I got 30 eggs. Up from the 22 per day I was getting. I lucked out with 4 of my 5 EE's laying light blue. [IMG]

    Take a peek.....

    Congrats.

Now you need Olive Eggers, dark laying Marans, green laying Easter Eggers, and some white egg layers. [IMG]

what do you mean, mottling? Like speckles?
I LOVE the speckles... But, I love the others too [IMG]

    ETA:
Did you mean, molting, as in losing feathers, instead of mottling? [IMG]

Beautiful assortment! Gotta get me an egg basket. Are you feeding the Manna Pro Gamebird food? I believe that's what I just added to my layer feed.

What is Manna Pro? Where do I get it? Do you add to regular feed or just feed the Manna Pro? Thanks!

Manna Pro aka Calf Manna ask at the feed store I feed it 2-5 % of total feed. Mix with layer or regular feed. It worked great for me. I was getting about 4 eggs from 30 hens now I'm getting 25 per day and my new pullets are giving me 12-18 a day from 40.

SO do you get the bag formulated for chickens? GAmebirds? It looks like they have several "Calf Manna feeds." Specifically, which type do you use???

Quote:I believe what they are talking about comes in a big bag and just says "Calf Manna" and it says horses, cows, poultry, etc. below that. It's a booster mix that you add to your regular feed, so it's for all barnyard critters.

I've not used it myself, but I've seen it at TSC and paused to read the bag.
