We almost forgot about it but the rain chased us indoors, just in time.

    We're bummed, too! [IMG]

He had a cracked hoof - why did they run him at all?

Happens every time, I'm not surprised at all.

I didn't like the fact that he was on the post. That horse likes the odds against him and does not like dirt in his face, but I'm glad they are going to go over him with a fine tooth comb because it sure looked like something was wrong. I just pray it's something minor. I don't think the hoof problem was the cause. I just pray there is no respiratory bleeding. They jockey played it smart with him thank the Lord!

I think it had to be the heat. I don't think it was the hoof. They have ran horses with worse problems that have won.

Quote:I dunno - one more death or catastrophe in racing and there will be trouble. These trainers had better get their stuff straight because people won't stand for it another year.

Seems like this happens every time a great horse comes around. Something goes wrong in the last race of the triple crown and the horse doesn't get it. I remember a similar thing a couple years ago where the horse that won two of the three was pushed hard in the last race and gassed in the final stretch. Wish I could remember the name now.
